Worked two years as a volunteer counselor for youth, families, and street people 1973 and 1980; employed as Program Coordinator of Ozone House for 1977-1980, responsible for shared supervision of counseling staff. Received supervision by staff M.S.W. for two years while on staff, Trainer of volunteer counselors and paid staff which included developing training materials, arranging for special trainings, and being a trainer for more than 40 trainings with more than 1000 individuals 1977-1981, and occasionally for the next few years. Volunteer and paid counseling experience totals more than 15,000 hours. Began teaching in 1973. Doula since 1981— informal training with lay midwives, involved with over 150 pregnancies. Provided a range of services including prenatal bodywork and support, labor support, assistance with delivery, cranialsacral therapy before, during and after labor, nursing support, and post partum bodywork. Taught prenatal and infant massage, presented at midwifery conference. Present for over 100 actual births at home and hospital settings. Have presided at weddings, births, initiations, and numerous other rituals.
