Linda Diane Feldt
A student of the healing arts since 1973, Linda Diane has had a full time private practice in integrated holistic health care for more than three decades.
Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, certified as a Nutritional Consultant, completed a two year apprenticeship with Susun S. Weed in herbology, and trained extensively in Cranialsacral Therapy for 25 years, achieved Registered Polarity Practitioner status as well as Registered Polarity Educator (chose to not be a current member of APTA), certified in therapeutic massage, prenatial massage, as well as numerous other studies. Linda Diane has also provided labor support for over 150 births.
Linda Diane is a former board member of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, past president of The American Polarity Therapy Association, past president (twice) and currenlty preseident of The People's Food Co-op Ann Arbor, and has served on more than 100 boards and committees. She is a past Director of Ozone House of Ann Arbor and served on its board for nearly 10 years. She was the co-founder of The Three O'clock Lobby, called one of the forerunners of the youth liberation movement. Additional volunteer work has included 9 years providing pet therapy at Arbor Hospice, political, environmental, educational and social justice work, and other regular contributions to her community. She created and coordinated a volunteer biweekly lecture series on alternative health care for more than 9 years. In 2000 she was recognized by Massage Magazine as one of 46 notables in the national bodywork community. A 2005 Ann Arbor Observer profile featuring Linda Diane called her “the doyenne of alternative healing”.
In addition to numerous published articles she is the author of Massage: Learning to Give and to Receive, Dying Again: Thirteen Years of Writing and Waiting and "Spinach and Beyond: Loving Life and Dark Green Leafy Vegetables". Linda Diane has also created and maintains four web sites providing information and resources primarily in the area of holistic health care.
Her teaching experience spans nearly three decades and currently includes Health Teacher at the Ann Arbor Rudolf Steiner High School; Adjunct Instructor in Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, University of Michigan; monthly herbal classes for The People’s Food Co-op and formerly for Whole Foods; guest lectures for numerous college classes including the UM Medical School and local groups; and classes and workshops through The Ann Arbor Center for Holistic Health and Traditional Wisdom as well as independently for more than 25 years. Linda Diane’s previous teaching experience includes national conferences, The Ann Arbor Public Schools Adult Education and Recreation Program, Community High School, Jackson Community College, and as part of the faculty for the University of Michigan Complementary and Alternative Medicine course offered with the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
A generous teacher, she has a special interest in learning styles and creating a positive and supportive environment for learning.
